"Our mission in life is to serve you and to serve you well, whenever you feel the need of such service"…This was American Appraisal’s original mission statement when we began providing valuation services on February 1, 1896.
1896
Young and Moon founded The American Appraisal Company (“AA”) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - an independent appraisal company committed to providing detailed records of asset values.
1908
AA was the largest firm of its kind, over 200 people transacting business throughout the United States and Canada.
1910
Corporate tax laws in the United States began to focus on asset values and depreciation: need for accurate records of facilities, equipment and land values.
1960s
Established European operations in Italy, affiliate operations in the Philippines, Singapore, Mexico, Brazil and France.
1970
AA transformed to American Appraisal Associates, Inc. as a holding company.
1970s
New affiliates in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand; established operations in Spain and UK.
1975
Established Hong Kong operations to meet local economic needs for reputable and competent professional appraisal of tangible and intangible assets; provided assistance to the Hong Kong Government as expert witness in tax cases.
1994
China offices established in Beijing and Shenzhen, the first by an international valuation firm.
1990s-2000s
Established operations in Japan, Eastern Europe (Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Russia and Romania), Greece, Germany, Austria and France.
2002
Further expansion into mainland China: established offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou in addition to Beijing and Shenzhen. The Hong Kong office of American Appraisal now serves the role of a regional headquarters.
2006
We celebrate two anniversaries: 30 years in Hong Kong as its first international independent valuation firm and 110 years of continual valuation practice.
2007
The launch of our new logo and tagline “Leading / Thinking / Performing” symbolize the start of American Appraisal’s new era after 110 years of history.
2008
Established operations in Australia, India, Argentina and Chile.
2009
Established operations in Brazil and Taiwan.
2010
American Appraisal China celebrates its 35th Anniversary.
